Have you found yourself cleaning more than usual lately with everyone at home all the time? I definitely have! While I'm trying to stay on top of my daily cleaning routine and get through my annual spring cleaning checklist, I've found that I'm quickly running low on all purpose cleaner.

I'm not planning to head to the store until we need to replenish the pantry, and my go to places for ordering cleaning supplies are shipping slower than usual (though I still rely on Grove Collaborative for hand soap, paper towels, and toilet paper).  That's why I'm getting all my cleaning done with a simple DIY all purpose cleaner that can be whipped up with a few ingredients that are always on hand.

Want to make your own easy cleaner to take care of countertops, bathroom, kitchen surfaces and more? Keep reading to see how!

Easy DIY All Purpose Cleaner

This all purpose cleaner works on just about any non-porous surface. I use it on my kitchen countertops and appliances, in the bathroom, and on our dining room table.

And, because it uses just a few non-toxic ingredients, you know that it's safe to use in homes with kids and pets.

One note though - this is not a disinfectant. It works great for every day cleaning, but when it comes to disinfecting I use Force of Nature. It's an EPA registered disinfectant that is totally non-toxic and safe, using the power of electrolyzed water to kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses (even viruses similar to COVID-19).

Check out Force of Nature here and use my special coupon code SAFEHOME to take $40 off your starter kit (plus FREE shipping!).

With my DIY all purpose cleaner and Force of Nature disinfectant, you have everything you need to keep your house clean without harsh chemicals.

DIY All Purpose Cleaner Ingredients:

Yields: 22-24 Ounces
  • 24-Ounce Spray Bottle
  • Small Jar or Glass Measuring Cup
  • ½ Cup Vinegar
  • 1 ½ Tablespoons Dawn Dish Soap
  • ½ Tablespoon Baking Soda

Directions:

In a small jar, add the baking soda, Dawn dish soap, and the vinegar, in that order.

You'll notice that the baking soda and vinegar makes a nice foam (the kids love this part!)

Let the vinegar stop foaming before adding the mixture to the spray bottle. You can either use a funnel or pour it in freestyle if you have a steady hand (tip: mix it in a glass measuring cup for easy pouring!)

Fill the bottle the rest of the way with water. You will have to stop every once in a while to let the foam die down a bit in order to get all of your water in the bottle.

That's it! Your all purpose cleaner is ready to use to keep your house sparkling clean without harsh chemical or expensive ingredients.
