The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.
- Buddy the elf

I can't think of a more quotable Christmas movie than Elf. Will Ferrell's "cotton headed ninny muggins" has become a Christmas icon, and Elf is on heavy rotation at our house every holiday.

I love making DIY Christmas decor, and quote wood blocks are my new obsession. That's why I'm super excited to share this Elf-inspired project and give you the FREE SVG files you need to make one with your Cricut too!

DIY Christmas Wood Block Decor

Materials:

Square wood block (you can choose any size that you like, as you are able to resize the SVG file in Design Space)
White acrylic paint (chalk matte paint works best)
Paint brush

Instructions:

Paint your wood block with one coat of chalk paint. Let dry for a few hours.

While the blocks are drying, grab the FREE SVG files by entering your email below. You'll receive both designs in one ZIP file.

Please note these files are for personal use only and may not be resold or used for products for sale.

Unzip the file and upload each SVG into Design Space. Resize as needed to fit the block size that you've chosen.

Set your Cricut machine to vinyl. Place the green vinyl on the blue cutting mat. Send it to the machine to cut. Once the machine is finished with the design, use the weeding tool to remove the excess vinyl. Repeat for the second design with red vinyl.

Cut a piece of transfer tape large enough to cover your weeded design. Peel back the transfer tape and place on top of your vinyl. Scrape well with your cricut card tool. Slowly pull back the transfer tape being sure the design sticks to the transfer tape. Line it up to the block and place the vinyl on it.

Once it's on rub well with your card tool.  Slowly pull back the transfer tape being sure the design sticks to the wood. Repeat for the second design.

Now your blocks are ready to be displayed! Stack them in a tier, set them side by side, or wrap them up to gift to your favorite Elf.
