You've probably heard that the kitchen sink is one of the germiest places in your house. If not, surprise! It's true.

The kitchen sink is one of the places that I clean every day to help keep those nasty germs at bay (and I give it a good bleach and water rinse every week).

I've discovered a super simple, yummy smelling natural homemade sink cleaner that gets my kitchen sink fresh and clean with just a few ingredients. This homemade cleaning powder is perfect for the kitchen, with the power of citrus to make any sink shiny clean. Want to make some for your home? Here's how to do it.

All Natural Homemade Citrus Sink Cleaner

This DIY sink cleaner uses simple ingredients that you probably already have on hand. It's all natural and safe to use in a house with kids and pets.

Sink Cleaner Ingredients:

- 1 cup of baking soda
- 1 cup of Borax powder
- 1 small orange
- Optional: 5-7 drops of citrus essential oil of choice (lemon, lime, or pink grapefruit all work great.)

The baking soda will help eliminate odor, the Borax powder will help clean and remove grime, while the citrus oils will help cut through grease and refresh!

PS - Use some of these same ingredients to make a batch of my homemade deodorizer too.

Directions:

In a bowl, mix the baking soda and Borax powder together.

Slice a small orange in half and squeeze the juice into the bowl. Mix the juice and the powder together. You will notice some fizzing at this time which is normal.

When you are finished squeezing the juice, drop the orange halves into your garbage disposal and turn it on. This will clean and freshen the disposal too!

Optional: Add in 5-7 drops of citrus essential oils to the cleaner for additional cleaning power. Mix well.

To use, shake the citrus cleaner onto the surface of your sink. It works great on either enamel or stainless steel. Gently rub the cleaner in circles with a dry cloth then rinse with warm water. Repeat as needed for stubborn spots or stains.

The citrus oils will activate the powder to make it an even more powerful scrubbing agent. With just a little effort your sink will sparkle and smell great too!

Use the all natural kitchen sink scrub immediately. If you have any leftover, place it in a glass jar and store in the refrigerator for up to one week.

You can also use this cleaner in the bathroom for the sink, tub, or toilet. Just sprinkle a little in the bowl, use a brush to work it into the sides and under the rim, then flush.
