Make Your Own Robo-Sauce: Free Printable Snack Pouch Wraps

Make Your Own Robo-Sauce with Free Printable Snack Pouch Wraps You Can Color! Transform an ordinary snack pouch with this free printable robot activity. Kids love it!

Kids love robots, and mine are no exception. So when Penguin Books sent me a copy of the new kids' book Robo-Sauce I knew we would be in for a treat. We had so much fun with this book we used it to inspire some robot pretend play... but of course we needed our own Robo-Sauce first. I solved that with a super cute twist on one of our favorite snacks and the boys ate it up (literally!)

I received this book free from the publisher in exchange for my honest review. This post contains affiliate links. See my Disclosure Policy for details.

Robo-Sauce is the latest creation from Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri, who also wrote and illustrated Dragons Love Tacos. Robo-Sauce is a quirky, fun book that imagines what would happen if there was a special sauce that turned everything it touched into a robot. When the Robo-Sauce launcher is activated everything is transformed into a robot - even the book!

One of the really fun features of Robo-Sauce is its special fold out, flip over ending that turns into a whole new robo-story. It took me a minute to figure it out (don't worry, there's a video if you really need help) but once I got it I found it to be a really inventive way to finish the book, and my kids loved it.

Robo-Sauce is a hilarious, light hearted book that captures the imagination. It practically begs you to play robot after you read it (and that's just what my boys wanted to do!) But of course, if you're going to turn into a robot you need to eat some Robo-Sauce first. So I put together a free printable that you can color and then transform an ordinary snack pouch into your own Robo-Sauce!

Start by downloading your free printable here.

This sheet makes 3 snack pouch wraps. You can leave them as is or invite your children to make them their own with a little color!

Once your wraps are colored, cut the sheet into 3 strips. Wrap each strip around your favorite snack pouch.

Trim about 1/2 inch from one of the ends so that the wrap will fit correctly (so you can see both robots) on the back. Tape the wrap closed.

Serve to your child but watch out - he may turn into a robot!

Making our own Robo-Sauce from ordinary snack pouches was a really fun way to bring the book Robo-Sauce to life. My boys ask for their "robot pouches" all the time now and after they are done they love to play robot! I love how the book and this simple activity has sparked their imagination and inspired their play.
