Host a Christmas Movie Night with Holiday Chex Mix and FREE Printables

This post has been sponsored by General Mills. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is snuggling up on the couch to watch Christmas movies. I love them all, from the black and white classics to the laugh out loud comedies. There is nothing better than hosting a Christmas movie night with family and friends.

This holiday, take your Christmas movie night to the next level with fun free printables and a super yummy Chex mix snack that everyone will love.

Christmas Movie Night Essentials

When it comes to hosting a Christmas movie night, you have to start with the right snack. I've got you covered with a really simple holiday Chex mix recipe that is a little sweet, a little salty, and goes perfectly with your favorite Christmas movie.

I always make sure that our pantry is stocked with Chex cereal when I do my grocery shopping at Giant. There's something special about shopping at Giant during the holiday season—it's the grocery store I went to with my dad when I was a kid, so it's the perfect place to pick up the ingredients for a Christmas movie night featuring some of my childhood favorite films.

Chex cereal is yummy for breakfast, but it's also super versatile to include in sweet and savory snack mixes for every occasion. I also love that it's gluten free!

For Christmas movie nights, I like to mix Chex cereal with popcorn for what I call my Christmas Movie Mix.

Easy Christmas Movie Snack Mix

Here's what you need to make Christmas Movie Mix:

  • 4 cups Chex cereal. You can use Corn or Rice Chex, whichever you prefer. Or mix it up by adding in some Chocolate Chex too!
  • 2 cups plain popcorn
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup candy coated chocolates (feel free to use more or less to taste) in holiday colors
  • Holiday colored sprinkles
  • Salt (optional)

Directions:

Mix cereal and popcorn in a large bowl.

In a small bowl, melt butter in the microwave for approximately 30 seconds. Stir in sugar, and heat for another 30 seconds until fully incorporated (microwave times may vary).

Pour melted butter mixture over cereal/popcorn mix and stir until evenly coated. Allow to cool if needed.

Add in chocolate candies and top with sprinkles. If desired, sprinkle with salt.

That's it! This Chex snack mix is so tasty, you might need to make more than one batch. My family loves it!

Now that your snack mix is ready, you can put the finishing touches on your Christmas movie night with fun free printables.
