It's time for another month of our online book club and this month's pick is the award winning New York Times bestseller Ordinary Grace by William Kent Krueger. I'm super excited for our book club discussion and have some thought provoking Ordinary Grace book club questions to get us started. Set in the fictional town of New Bremen, Minnesota, Ordinary Grace is told from the perspective of forty year old Frank Drum as he recounts the summer he was thirteen. Over the course of the summer the small town is rocked by a series of deaths, and Frank must navigate the journey from innocent child to young man. Ordinary Grace is a moving novel about faith, death, secrets, and growing up.

Why is the setting of a small, country town so important for this story?What do you think happened to Bobby Cole? Why do you think the novel started with his death?
Discuss the different ways characters grieve the death’s of their loved ones. How does faith influence grief?
Do you think Karl’s death was accidental or on purpose?
Discuss disability in the novel. What do you think of its representation? Do you have any problems with the characterization of differently abled people in the novel?
Do you think it was irresponsible for the adults in the novel to allow the children to be so involved in the investigations? Should they have been more shielded and protected?
