Summer vacation is all about creating family memories that last a lifetime. Some of my favorite memories of childhood centered around our vacations - playing on the beach, rides at the boardwalk amusement park, eating fresh steamed crabs at a newspaper covered picnic table, staying up late with cousins that I didn't see enough. These are some of the best family moments, and I want to help create these special times for my own kids and also help them capture them as well.

We're busy planning our summer vacation now, and as I'm deciding where we will go and what we will do I also wanted to give my kids something to capture their vacation memories. To help them along, I created a printable travel journal for kids, and I have it as a free download for you to use too!

FREE Printable Travel Journal for Kids

This printable vacation journal page is perfect to help your kids record their memories of each day of vacation - there's a place to mark the date, place, and the weather. It has open spaces for places that you went that day and things you did - be creative and draw a picture! Finally, there is writing space for what you want to remember from that day - a great meal, a fun outing, anything you want! This journal page is perfect for kids and adults of any age (my boys aren't writing yet, so I'm planning to let them draw in the frames and I'll help with the rest). You can print as many copies as you need to include them in a summer scrapbook, or put them in a three ring binder that you add to every year. It's all up to you!

Consider Ocala

As I'm researching options for our family vacation, I was so excited to discover all there is to explore in Ocala/Marion County Florida. I start planning each vacation by making a vacation bucket list (you can find it and more in my printable travel planner here). I list out everything that's on our must do list - golf for my husband, water fun and outdoor adventure for my kids, and shopping for me. As I'm exploring all there is to do in Ocala I'm finding it checks off most everything on our list!

We've been looking at Florida Travel, and I'm focusing on central Florida so we can hit the major theme parks too. I really want something that has outdoor water activities, and Ocala has freshwater lakes, springs, and rivers for lots of water fun. Plus, it's only about an hour from Orlando for theme parks and an hour and a half to Tampa for us to catch a baseball game! And there are so many Ocala/Marion County Activities to try too.

There is so much to explore in Ocala & Marion County - check it out for yourself below
