We created a Reading Corner in our playroom over the summer and it quickly became one of my boys' favorite places in the house. They love having a quiet, sunny spot to curl up with their books. There was only one problem... the basket holding their books was just not cutting it. It was too small, and didn't display the books well. I needed to find a new solution.
We LOVE the Tidy Books bookcase in the boys' bedroom, so I knew Tidy Books would have a solution for our playroom too. I needed something that would fit a large number of books in a small space, was compact (our playroom is all windows so I can't put a bookcase up), and could be easily moved in case the boys needed more room to play. The Tidy Books Book Storage Box was the perfect choice!
I put the Book Storage Box together myself (with a little "help" of course from the boys). The instructions were easy to follow and everything I needed was included. Tidy Books' products are eco-friendly, using FSC-certified sustainable wood and non-toxic, water based lacquer. We put the box together fairly quickly and got right to filling it up! The low profile is perfect to fit under the windows in our playroom, and the rounded sides make it safer for our play area.
The box is separated into four sections, two on each side with a handle in between. This is perfect for storing tall books in the middle and shorter ones in the front, and you can see all the covers. I love this feature because it helps the boys see what they have.
I also love having different sections so I can keep our library books in their own space (and hopefully remember to return them on time).
The boys were super excited to check out their new book box and help fill it up with books! The Book Storage Box holds up to 40 books, so we have some room to grow. I am definitely able to fit more books into a smaller footprint than I was with just a basket.
One of my favorite features of the Book Storage Box is this adorable clock. It's made from solid wood and sturdy enough to hold up to little hands. This is perfect for my boys who are learning their numbers and to tell time - they love moving the hands and saying all the numbers. And, the clock is removable, so you can take it off if you need to.
Ready to read! The boys are loving their new Book Storage Box. It's a great solution for our playroom, as it fits perfectly in our small reading corner but still holds a lot of books. And I can easily move it out of the way to make more space.
The design helps make reading fun with the interactive clock and forward facing books. My boys can more easily find the books they want and they are rediscovering old favorites by having them at eye level.
