I have been a big reader for as long as I can remember. and as an adult I've loved being part of a monthly book club! There's nothing better than getting together with a group of girlfriends and a glass of wine to chat over a new book. Since I've had my boys I don't make it to book club enough, which is why I'm so excited to be joining my friend Meghan at Playground Parkbench to host a virtual book club just for moms!

Set in the early 1950's, In the Unlikely Event follows the residents of Elizabeth, NJ, as they experience incredible tragedy and coincidence - three plane crashes within weeks of each other. It seems impossible but the crashes actually did happen in Blume's childhood.
In the Unlikely Event weaves young love, tragedy, hope and family dynamics in the complex narratives of its characters. It is a gripping novel that holds you from beginning to end.
