I used to make epic Christmas lists. Epic. When the Sears Wish Book arrived, all 300 pages of it, I would pore over it like a a scholar, memorizing every detail. That's where I first discovered Cabbage Patch dolls, Care Bears, and sweatshirts with removable sleeves. My lists were amazingly detailed, with wish book page numbers and an elaborate star ranking system that would impress even the toughest critic. Though I never got everything I asked for (not even close!), I always loved making my Christmas list.

Of course now, as a mom, I am on the receiving end of the Christmas wish list. And since we have just finished a major Christmas toy purge in our playroom, I'm not looking to load my boys up with tons of new toys on Christmas morning. I have discovered that we have a lot less arguing and a lot more cooperation when we have less toys. I've seen the Want, Need, Wear, Read idea for a simplified Christmas in various places over the last few years, and now that my boys are old enough, I've made a printable Christmas list template for them - and for you!
