Creating a cozy, inviting space to curl up with a book is one of the best things you can do to encourage young readers. Now that my twins have moved from the toddler phase to preschool, and nap time is a thing of the past, I'm always looking for new ways to give them quiet spaces to relax and refresh. One of our big projects this winter has been turning a spare bedroom into a craft & reading room, and I'm so excited to have teamed up with Brentwood Home to bring you the perfect way to create a cozy reading corner too - with free printable book inspired art inspired by a childhood classic.

Create a Cozy Kids' Reading Corner

It's really easy to create the perfect reading corner for your kids - all you need is a cozy, comfy place for them to relax and a selection of their favorite books. When I discovered that we had an empty corner in our craft room I knew it would be the perfect spot for a reading corner. And to help inspire my boys to read and imagine, I've decorated our space with artwork inspired by one of my childhood favorite books, The Velveteen Rabbit.

Since The Velveteen Rabbit is a Family Dinner Book Club featured book, making your own cozy reading corner is the perfect activity to try this month!

This free printable art is perfect for decorating your reading corner, with a quote from The Velveteen Rabbit to encourage your kids to imagine that anything is possible. The soft colors are perfect for a quiet, cozy spot to curl up with a good book. To get your free printable art, simply click the button below.

Every reading space needs a comfortable seat, and the Venice Lounger from Brentwood Home couldn't be more perfect.

Once you have your cozy seat, you can add in a bin or bookshelf for all your child's favorite stories. Click here to see some of my favorite kid's book storage ideas. I love using a book box that you can move as needed.

Next, you'll want to add a spot for your child's favorite stuffed friends (just like in The Velveteen Rabbit). I love using a stuffed animal storage bin that doubles as an ottoman or second seat!

Or, you can turn your favorite oversized stuffed animal into a seat! Check out this reading corner for inspiration.
