It seems like our Christmas gift list gets longer every year, and I am always looking for creative ways to give a little something that I think everyone will love. Cocoa & Cookies DIY Gift Idea

This gift combines a few of my favorite things - not raindrops on roses or whiskers on kittens, but hot chocolate, cookies, and mason jars. I've been eyeing lots of Christmas Mason jar crafts and love how they look, so I wanted to figure out a fun way to use a Mason jar as packaging. I thought it would be super cute to fill one with Christmas cookies, then add a packet of hot chocolate mix for the perfect sweet Christmas treat! But since hot cocoa packets are not all that cute, I needed something fun to wrap them in. One of my favorite designers made me some super cute printable envelopes and voila, my gift is complete! Here's a closer look at how you can put these together yourself.

To make these Cocoa & Cookies gifts, you'll need:

Start by downloading and printing your Snowman Gift Envelopes - just click the button below. I recommend printing on card stock so they are sturdy. You'll get both the red "Merry Christmas" version and the blue "Happy Holidays" one too.

Follow the instructions on the printable to create your envelopes - simply cut along the outline, glue, and fold. Allow the glue to dry completely. While it is drying, fill your mason jars with your favorite cookie.

I'll confess that these are actually store bought cake balls that I picked up at Sam's Club - after a week of colds going around our house I was in no mood to bake! And these were ridiculously cute and super yummy.

If you're looking for a homemade cookie recipe to fill your jars, give one of these a try:

Frosted Holiday Cookie Cups

No Bake Snowflake Cookies

Ornament Cookies (Craftulate)

Eggnog Cookies with Bourbon Cream (Playground Parkbench)

Poinsettia Spritz Cookies (Arts & Crackers)

Stained Glass Window Cookies (Life is a Cabernet)

Once your jar is full, close it tightly. Make sure your snowman envelope is dry, then use your hole punch to punch a hole in one of the top corners. Cut a piece of ribbon long enough to fit around the top of the Mason jar and thread it through the hole.

Then simply place a hot chocolate packet inside and seal shut with tape if you desire. Tie the envelope around the top of your Mason jar and your gift is complete!

Want to make these even more fun? Why not add a Knit Gingerbread Man to your gift or give a children's book with a matching cookie! Or if you have someone who loves to color, try this cookie themed coloring page for grown ups.
